| Supercomputers:
Michigan investigators from academia and from
our small Michigan biotechs can apply for time and space on MCBIs
supercomputing resources for intensive bioinformatics computing.
Genomics and Proteomics Computing at University
of Michigan:
This 64 node Linux cluster is located in Ann Arbor and run by MCBI staff
at the University of Michigan. As part of this cluster, a parallelized
BLAST server is available for intensive BLAST searches. A number of
bioinformatics tools are available on the cluster through the PISE tool
portal. These tools use the standard PISE
web-based bioinformatics interface, making them more accessible to the
biologist. A command line interface is also available. Please contact
Brian Ahtey bleu@umich.edu
for more information.
Structural
Biology Computing at Michigan State University:
A 16 node SGI system is available through the Michigan State University
for structural biology applications, including analysis of X-ray and NMR
structural data. Plans are in place for a Beowulf cluster to be added
to this facility. Please visit The Center
for Biological Modeling at Michigan State University for more information
on these clusters and their associated software.
Molecular
Modeling at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center:
Access to Pittsburgh Supercomputing facilities for molecular modeling
will also be available once we finish establishing our policies for access.
